Disney Tracking Refillable Mugs

 

Oh Disney, Why?

Disney has just finished up some testing at their All Star Sports Resort to limit your Refillable Mug use to the length of your stay.  

 

 

They are doing this with an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) chip that is embedded on the bottom of the mug or drink cup you purchase.  When you are ready to get your refill, the drink dispensing machine will read/scan your RFID chip and determine if you are eligible.  They are also testing the amount of refiles per day.  For example, if you received a refill with that cup in the last five minutes, no drink for you!  The exception to this is water and ice, they are always available.

 

Disney is obviously feeling that they are loosing money on this soda endeavor and are trying to reign in the customers use of these soda machines.
